FAKE DOCTORS INVADE MPULUNGU

(ZANIS) Authorities in Mpulungu District have unearthed a scam in which some foreign nationals are reportedly illegally working as doctors.

Mpulungu area Member of Parliament LEONARD MBAO revealed that the said individuals who are mainly from the Democratic Republic of Congo -DRCC- are running clinics and dispensing uncertified drugs.

Mr. MBAO who is also Northern Province Minister, has since instructed health officials and security wings in the district to move into action and put an end to the illegality.

The lawmaker has since advised members of the public to seek medical attention from government health facilities and not risk their health.

And in another development, Mr. MBAO has called for professional conduct among health personnel at Mpulungu District Hospital.

Speaking when he visited the hospital, Mr. MBAO said his office has received a number of complaints over what he termed as negative work attitude.

Meanwhile, Mpulungu District Hospital Medical Officer in charge MWIINGA MWAMUYUNI has assured the minister that the reported issues will be addressed.
