Former ZNBC Director General JULIANA MWILA has died.

Ms. MWILA, 67 died on Friday night at the Cancer Diseases hospital in Lusaka after an illness.

Mrs. MWILA also served as the immediate past ZNBC Board Chairperson.

ZNBC Head of Corporate Affairs ANNE MUKABE has confirmed the development to ZNBC News.

Ms. MUKABE said Mrs. MWILA served the Corporation with a lot of discipline, and will be remembered for her commitment to the Journalism profession.

She has told ZNBC news in an interview that the Corporation commiserates with the MWILA family, and wished them strength during this time and beyond.

Meanwhile, Media Consultant GILLIAN MUKULA, who worked with Mrs. MWILA at the then Zambia News Agency -ZANA- described her as a media pillar who stood firm to communicate factual news.

Ms. MUKULA said Mrs. MWILA pushed for investigative Journalism and will be remembered as a media icon.

And ZANIS Director LOYCE SAILI urged young journalists to learn from the hard work, commitment and resilience of Mrs. MWILA if they are to thrive in the media industry.

Mrs. MWILA served as ZNBC Director General from 2009 to 2010.
