EMBRACE UNITY – CATHOLIC BISHOPS

The Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops -ZCCB- has called on Zambians to reflect on the ideals of First Republican President Kenneth Kaunda to embrace unity and rise above political divides and tribalism.

ZCCB President Ignatius Chama who is also Kasama Archbishop says Dr. Kaunda’s memory must be honored by ensuring that everyone embraces one another.

Archbishop Chama says Dr. Kaunda left the country something to cherish as people are now free and can belong to any political party of their choice.

He was speaking when he led the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops to Dr. Kaunda’s residence where they signed the book of condolences and also visited the burial site of Mrs. Betty Kaunda.

And Dr. Kaunda’s son, Tilyenji thanked the Catholic church for their messages of comfort as the family mourns.

Meanwhile, Lusaka Archbishop Alick Banda said the country will remember Dr. Kaunda for the promotion of the country’s peace.
