The midfielder was part of the coach Beston Chambeshi 2017 U-20 AFCON winning squad, be it as a fringe player with Boyd Musonda preferred in the defensive midfield role and Moses Nyondo and Solomon Sakala at the heart of defense given that he can easily fit in those positions.

When the players returned to their clubs, Tembo was among the players that showed great improvement and promise, it was exciting to see him play at the City of Lusaka with an armband, he was simply brilliant, yes City ya Moto was a shadow of itself that season but Tembo was simply a class above most.

He wore that armband with pride and led the team from all angles and one of the most memorable games was a match against Mighty Mufulira Wanderers at Woodlands Stadium on 6th August, he topped off his brilliant showing with a beautiful strike.

On 5th November 2017 he confirmed to the ZamFoot Crew that he would be leaving the club following their relegation from the Super League after a 5-2 loss at the hands of Lusaka Dynamos, on the day, the now Simba SC striker Chris Mugalu scored his first-ever Zambia Super League hat-trick.

“I don’t think I will be with them next season. I think am going somewhere else,” he said.

In January 2018, The workaholic midfielder joined team Ya Ziko penning a three-year deal but with only a handful of appearances under his belt in three years, Tembo turned down a contract renewal and opted to makee a switch to Team Kopala, Buildcon.

The midfielder is now putting in full shifts for Team Kopala and he looks sharp, in control, and seems to have gotten his groove back, his passing is precise and on point, his work rate, well he has always had that attribute and he is using it well.

Coach Boyd Mulwanda should be a happy man looking at how good the 2017 U-20 AFCON winner looks in that midfield.
