EDUCATION NGO PRAISES GOVT FOR KEEPING SCHOOLS CLOSED

By Ruth Chayinda-The National Union of Public and Private Educators of Zambia -NUPPEZ- has praised Government for responding to the call to keep schools closed amidst high Covid cases and mortality rate.

NUPPEZ President VICTOR MUYUMBA has however expressed disappointment at private schools that are reportedly failing to pay teachers their salaries on claims that schools are closed.

MEANWHILE, Mr. MUYUMBA has raised concern on the level of indebtedness amongst civil servants saying teachers are waiting for the debt swap which the government is pursuing.

He was speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka today.
