ECZ unhappy with PF’s NAKACINDA

The Electoral Commission of Zambia- ECZ has dispelled assertions by PF Secretary General RAPHAEL NAKACINDA that the continuous voter registration exercise is being conducted in UPND strongholds.

The Commission has invited Mr. NAKACINDA to visit the ECZ to present evidence of his allegations.

Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka today, ECZ Director Electoral Operations ROYD KATONGO said the Commission is mandated to carry out voter registration in all parts of the country.

Mr. KATONGO said there is no secrecy in the voter registration process which has been open and fully covered by the media.

He further said the Commission is studying the matter and appropriate action will be taken against Mr. NAKACINDA’s allegations.

Meanwhile, ECZ Head Procurement JAMES MWAMBA said the ECZ is still receiving bids from companies interested in printing ballot papers and other Electoral materials.

Mr. MWAMBA said the tender will close on November 3rd 2023.
