ECZ to scale up continuous voter registration exercise

Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ- Chief Electoral Officer BROWN KASARO says the Commission will scale up the continuous voter registration exercise in 2024 ahead of the 2026 General Election.

Mr. KASARO revealed this today at his office in LUSAKA when ZNBC Director General BERRY LWANDO called on him.

He disclosed that 32,496 voters have been registered by the ECZ from June last year to date.

Of the figure 13,653 voters were registered from June to December 2022 while 18,843 voters have been registered between January and October this year.

And Mr. LWANDO called for an innovative approach to the dissemination of information on the continuous voters’ registration and other electoral issues.

Mr. LWANDO said apart from the English Channel, the ECZ must also make use of local language channels.
