ECZ to add 13,363 voters to the register

The Electoral Commission of Zambia says it registered 28,728 voters from January to December 2023.

ECZ Chief Electoral Officer BROWN KASARO says the provisional data will be subjected to inspection, after which the Commission will certify the Register of Voters for those who registered in 2023.

Mr. KASARO said this during a stakeholder engagement meeting on certification of the register of voters and implementation of continuous registration of voters held in Lusaka today.

Meanwhile, 13,363 voter records from the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration by the Electoral Commission of Zambia will be added to the 2021 Voters’ Register.

This follows the inspection of the provisional register of voters for those who registered from June to December 2022.

The Commission will certify the verified data for the year 2022 on February 21st, 2024.

Meanwhile, Manager Elections WINA MWANAMONGA said 16,137 voters updated their details in the year 2023.

Mr. MWANAMONGA said the current 2021 register of voters stands at 7,234,099.
