ECZ commits to credible elections

Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ- Chairperson, MWANGALA ZALOUMIS says the commission is committed to ensuring the delivery of credible elections at all times.

This was during the nomination briefing for candidates and other stakeholders of the electoral process ahead of tomorrow’s nominations in Mufulira’s Buntungwa ward by-election.

Ms. ZALOUMIS urged the candidates to be fully equipped with the regulations that govern elections to avoid conflicts.

Meanwhile, Mufulira District Electoral Officer, KASONDE MUSONGOLE, highlighted that all is set for the filing in of nominations scheduled to take place at Zamchin Hall on Thursday.

The candidates are from the PF, the UPND, Socialist Party, Citizens First Party, the Leadership Movement Party plus two independent candidates.

This by-election will take place on Friday March 1st, 2024 as a result of the resignation of the area councillor, EUGEN ZULU of the Patriotic Front on November 27, 2023.
