Traditional leaders in Chibombo district in Central Province have disclosed that they are happy with President Edgar Lungu’s leadership.Chief Liteta, who spoke on behalf of Chieftainess Mungule, Chief Chitanda and Chief Mukuni Ng’ombe, said the traditional leaders in Chibombo district will continue to support the leadership of President LUNGU as he leads the nation.Chief Liteta was speaking when President Lungu called on traditional leaders at the district administration office shortly upon arrival in the area .The traditional leader said the Chiefs will keep praying to God to continue blessing the President as he leads the nation.And Chief Liteta has appealed to President Lungu to provide relief food to the four chiefdoms in order to alleviate poverty.He called on government to work on the road network stating that most roads in the district are not tarred.The Chief cited the Landless corner-Mumbwa road as one of the economic road which urgently needs to be worked on.In response, President Lungu said his government, through the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit-DMMU is conducting countrywide assessment of the hunger situation so that all the affected people can be helped.The President said government will distribute relief food to all citizens that are affected by hunger.The Head of State also noted that his government is working hard to curb diseases that have affected livestock in Central Province.President Lungu said government is alive to the challenges people are facing in Chibombo and that they will be attended to.The President however regretted that some developmental projects in the area have stalled.President Lungu has since directed the Minister of Home Affairs, Stephen Kampyongo, to ensure that he attends to the construction of Liteta police station which was one of projects the chiefs reported as having stalled.And Gift Inambao reports that three Chiefs in North Western Province have pledged to support and work with government to foster development in the province.Chief Ishima Sankenyi the Fifth of the Lunda people of Zambezi District says the decision has been arrived at in view that the chiefdom has lagged in development for a long time.And the Chiefs spouse has asked Kasama Central Member of Parliament Kelvin Sampa who was in Solwezi to ask the first lady to visit the chiefdom and give a message of hope to the women and girls.The traditional leader was speaking when Kasama Central MP Kelvin Sampa called on them in Solwezi.And Chief Matebo the 12th of the Kaonde People of Kalumbila district says he will continue to work with givernment because its development agenda.Meanwhile, Chief Mulonga of the Lamba people in Mushindamo district has equally called for government to speed up development in new district.And, Mr. Sampa assured the traditional leaders that he will escalate their issues to the PF executive and the Party president Edgar Lungu who is also the Republican President.
