ECL IRKED BY STALLED IKELENGI HOSPITAL WORKS

By Hector Simfukwe- President EDGAR LUNGU says government will fund the construction of Ikelengi District Hospital in North Western Province once the Attorney General approves the termination of the contract by the contractor who has abandoned the project.

President LUNGU says it sad that the project which started in 2015 has not been completed when similar projects in other parts of the country have been done.

The visibly annoyed President LUNGU says the people of Ikelengi would want to see the project complete so that they start using the facility.

President LUNGU took to task Provincial Permanent Secretary WILLIES MANGIMELA and provincial Infrastructure Officer PAUL LUSAKA to explain what steps they have taken to address the situation.

This was when the President went to inspect progress at Ikelengi General hospital which is at about forty percent.

And President LUNGU has urged Zambians to vote for Members of Parliament who have the heart for the people.

He said if some Members of Parliament were working the way they talk in parliament, more progress would have been made in places like Ikelengi.

President LUNGU said government will work with the PF MPs to improve the welfare of the people.

And Mr. LUSAKA and Mr. MANGIMELA informed the President that they have written to the Attorney General for termination of the contract.

They said the Attorney General has not yet responded to their request.

And PF candidate for Ikelengi Constituency HENRY FISHER said people want the hospital to be completed.

Mr. FISHER thanked the President for assuring the people that money will be provided to complete the hospital once the Attorney General gives advice on the matter.

He said when voted, he will work closely with government for the benefit of the people.
