Eagles sign ten players
Zambia Super League side, Green Eagles have confirmed the acquisition of ten new players ahead of the 2022/2023 Zambia Super League season.
Burundian Jules Ulimwengu leads the list. The Kawale has not normally been signing foreign players but it seems they have changed that policy.
Youremember Banda has also joined the Kawale Boys while Kingsley Fichite makes a return from Young Green Eagles.
“Green Eagles Football Club (GEFC) has acquired the services of ten players so far in a quest to beef up its squad for the 2022/23 football season.
GEFC Chairman Colonel Maybin Mundengo in welcoming the new acquisitions said the Eagles are targeting to win the 2022/23 MTN Super League and therefore called on the new players to embrace discipline, teamwork, hard work, and endurance combined with skill.
‘‘Green Eagles has played CAF Champions League once, CAF Confederation Cup twice and it is therefore very important for you new players to be professional, disciplined, and flag carriers. It is imperative to note that your new players have come at a time when the team is aiming at winning the 2022/23 MTN Super League title and qualifying for the CAF Champions League’’ Col Mundengo told Eagles media team.
Meanwhile, Head Coach Aggrey Chiyangi welcomed the new players to the squad and called on them to embrace good team spirit and bring on board competition.
‘‘Do not compare yourselves with other teams, you are now GEFC and you have to embrace the culture and standards of this football club at all times.”
Five players have been released by the club and thanked for the service and sacrifice rendered to the team during their stay.
