Green Eagles coach Aggrey Chiyangi has declared his side as been ready to host South African club Orlando Pirates in the CAF Champions League first leg of the second round of the preliminaries to be played at Nkoloma Stadium.

Chiyangi who was addressing the media on Friday said, “it’s going to be tough as usual, they have been preparing and we are also preparing but what is important for us we have to move to the next stage, so the preparations have been going on very well, everyone is geared for the game.”

Green Green Eagles coach Aggrey Chiyangi addressing the media on Friday morning at Football House.

When the coach was asked how intimidating it is to play one of the biggest team on the continent he was quick to say, “we are not intimidated zero percent of intimidation, the reason is very simple, we have played so many games and especially that we have been playing in the Zambian league and we have also played in the Confederation Cup and we also had a chance to play in the CECAFA meaning that the players have gained experience, intimidation for now I think it is out of our sight.”

He continued, “learning has to take a a lot of time because in football everything comes step by step the only good thing is when you talk about Green Eagles I think the graph has been moving upwards it is not going down which is a good thing for the team so even if we play Pirates it’s going to be another learning phase but again, it doesn’t mean when you are in the learning phase you can’t get a positive result because football is played on the pitch for us we are keeping our minds very positive.”

Green Eagles will go into this match without two of their key players Caesar Hakaluba and Bornface Sunzu who are injured. “The two players that are missing [the game] are Caesar Hakaluba and Bornface Sunzu they have almost the same injuries one on the left and the other one on the right but they are been treated right now.”

Green Eagles captain Caesar Hakaluba will miss the game due to injury.

Defender Mateo Ndasha who was a regular starter last season will also miss the game and has since been rumored to have retired but when Chiyangi was asked about the the defender he responded, “apparently am not going to comment about it the reason is simple, when I came from the CECAFA i didn’t go to Choma, I stayed to take care of the national team after the national team I went straight to join the team in Livingston so I haven’t had time to talk to Ndashe to hear about his story.

The match kicks off exactly at 15 hours but the gates at the stadium will be opened at 11 hours.
