DMMU TO TACKLE COVID-19

By Mary Kachepa-The Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit -DMMU- National Coordinator Chanda Kabwe has assured the Public Accounts Committee that the unit will in the next three days intensify its activities aimed at curbing the spread of the Covid 19 Pandemic.

Mr Kabwe says the DMMU has been working hard in the background except that it did not publicize its activities.

Speaking when he appeared before the public Accounts Committee Mr. Kabwe said he has taken note of the guidance given by members of the committee to ensure that the people are provided with information to avoid speculation.

Public Accounts Committee Chairperson Howard Kunda and members of the committee expressed concern on how the DMMU seemed to have dropped the guard during the second wave of the pandemic when compared to its activities during the first wave.
