DMMU TO PROVIDE COVID-19 MATERIAL AT INAUGURATION

 

The Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit -DMMU- has secured face masks and hand sanitizers to cater for the over 35 thousand people expected to attend the inauguration of the 7th President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA.

DMMU National Coordinator CHANDA KABWE says with the help of Cabinet office and the Lusaka Provincial Administration, the unit has set up adequate points around the stadium to provide the Covid-19 materials and other health services.

Mr. KABWE who is the Chairperson for the Covid-19 Multi-sectoral team, says the DMMU has secured enough materials to ensure everyone in attendance is safe from the virus following the pronouncement by Mr. HICHILEMA that everyone is welcome to the inauguration.

He says all entrances to the stadium will be equipped with face masks and portable hand sanitizers among others to ensure the elimination of possible risks.

Mr. KABWE has however called on the public not to drop their guard in preventing the pandemic.

He says the unit is working with the Ministry of Health, the Zambia National Public Health Institute and the Zambia Red Cross Society.

This is according to a statement issued to ZNBC news by DMMU Senior Communications Officer MATHEWS MUSUKWA.
