DMMU Donates to victims of demolished houses

The Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit -DMMU- has given relief food items to the families, whose houses were demolished, in Kasompe area in Chingola on the Copperbelt.

The families have each been given mealie-meal, rice and cooking oil.

Chingola District Commissioner, RAPHAEL CHIMUPI says the affected families will also receive K1,000 each.

Mr. CHIMUPI says the affected victims have been given temporary accommodation at the former council guest house, until an alternative place is found for them to move to.

And one of the affected, HAGGAI FWALANGA has thanked the DMMU for coming to their aid.

Mr. FWALANGA has reiterated the appeal to government to consider finding the victims alternative land..
