DMMU DISBURSING EMERGENCY CASH

By Mary Mwiinga:The Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit -DMMU -has started distributing the Six point Five Million emergency cash to the targeted One point Two million people in selected districts.DMMU National Coordinator Chanda Kabwe says so far 14 districts have received the money in Western, Southern and Central provinces.Mr. Kabwe says the distribution of the emergency cash is being done using international Non Governmental Organisations on behalf of government and will be done upto March 2020.He further explained to ZNBC News that the cash transfers to the community is part of the cope up strategy intervention to distribute social cash to people that are really in need of emergency cash.The first beneficiaries received the cash transfers on November 21st, 2019.
