DIESEL PRICE REDUCED,PETROL PRICE REMAINS UNCHANGED

The Energy Regulations Board -ERB- has reduced the pump price of diesel by 1Kwacha 64 ngwee per litre.

ERB Board Chairperson REYNOLDS BOWA says the Board has also reduced the pump price of Kerosene by 1-Kwacha 82 ngwee.

Mr. BOWA however says the pump price for petrol have remained unchanged while the retail airfield price of Jet A-1 fuel at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport have also been adjusted downwards.

He explains that diesel will now fetch for 24-Kwacha 64 ngwee per litre from 26-Kwacha 28 ngwee representing a 6.24 percent reduction.

Mr. BOWA has attributed the reduction to the appreciation of the Kwacha in April. .

He adds that the factors that caused the decline included the increased supply of oil as more petroleum refineries started to come back on stream after routine maintenance shut downs.

Mr. BOWA told journalists during a monthly fuel review presser in Lusaka.
