“Devon Oil Offer was Cancelled to Avert Fuel Shortage”

The Ministry of Energy has clarified that the offer to supply fuel to Devon Oil Zambia Limited was cancelled  to avert the shortage that could have occurred.

Energy Permanent Secretary PETER MUMBA, however, says the Ministry and Devon Oil Zambia limited have continued engaging to find an amicable solution to the concerns.

Speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka, Mr. MUMBA said the acceptance of the offer by Devon Oil was on condition that the company delivers the cargo within the month of September 2023 with no provision for extension.

Meanwhile, Information and Media Permanent Secretary THABO KAWANA has advised journalists to feed the citizenry the right information and curb falsehoods that are making rounds on social media.
