DEC quizzes Antonio Mwanza over source of PF campaign funds

Lazarous Sichula-The Drug Enforcement Commission -DEC- this afternoon interrogated former PF media director ANTONIO MWANZA over the source of funding for the PF campaigns in the recently held general election.

The interrogation was conducted in the presence of Mr. MWANZA’s lawyers at its Anti-Money Laundering Investigation Unit.

Speaking shortly after the interrogation, Mr. MWANZA told journalists that he declined to disclose the source of the PF’s campaign funds.

Mr. MWANZA has argued that there is no law in Zambia that gives DEC the power to ask a political party to disclose its source of funding.

He also wondered why other political parties that took part in the August general election have not been asked to disclose their source of funding.

But when earlier reached for a comment, DEC public relations manager MATTHIAS KAMANGA declined to comment.
