DEATH OF 9 ACCIDENT VICTIMS SADDENS GOVT

Government is saddened by the death of nine people in an accident on the Great North Road.

Chief Government Spokesperson CHUSHI KASANDA says the state has learnt with great sorrow that the accident which left 18 people injured occurred after a minibus collided with a track at a road junction on the Great North Road.

Ms. KASANDA, who is also information Minister, says it is sad that excessive speeding and negligence caused the accident which led to the loss of so many lives.

She has since sent a message of condolence to the bereaved families and those nursing the injuries.

In a statement availed to ZNBC News, Ms. KASANDA said Government will do everything possible to make roads safe to avoid accidents of such nature from reoccurring.
