Daka unused in Leicester City’s victory over PNE

CHIPOLOPOLO striker Patson Daka was an unused substitute as Leicester City secured the EFL Championship title in emphatic fashion following a comprehensive 3-0 away win over Preston North End in the penultimate fixture played this evening at Deepdale.

Veteran forward Jamie Vardy netted a goal in either half before fit-again youngster Kasey Mcateer rounded off the scoring. Vardy is Leiceister’s topscorer this season with 20 goals in all competitions.

Leicester top the table with 97 points from 45 matches, seven ahead of second-placed Leeds United with only one game to go.

The ‘Foxes’ will be presented with the Championship trophy on Saturday afternoon in front of their home fans when they host Blackburn Rovers at the King Power Stadium in a 13:30hrs CAT kickoff. No club has now won the EFL Championship more times than Leicester (8).
