CRISIS COMMUNICATION TO HELP GOVT FIGHT COVID-19

The Crisis Communication Zambia Chapter -CCC- has pledged to work with government to increase the number of children that are getting vaccinated against COVID-19.

The Chapter an initiative of DW Academia and being spearheaded in Zambia by the Media Institute for Southern Africa -MISA Zambia, brings together Journalists and various professionals to help sensitize the community on the COVID -19 vaccine.

CCC Copperbelt Chapter Representative CHANSA MAYANI says the organisation will provide factual information to ordinary people to make them understand the need to get vaccinated.

She says people should not drop the guard as the Covid-19 pandemic is still around.

Ms. MAYANI says media professionals should help government by discarding false news regarding the Covid-19 Pandemic.

She said this during the launch of the CCC Copperbelt Chapter in Kitwe’s Mulenga compound.

During the launch health workers were on hand to vaccinate the people against Covid-19.

And MISA Zambia Programs Officer JANE CHIRWA said her organization will work with government to ensure that more people are vaccinated against Covid-19.

Ms. CHIRWA said Mulenga Compound was picked to host the launch of the Chapter on the Copperbelt because it is one of the densely populated settlements in Kitwe .

And Ndeke Ward Councillor DAVIES KASENGELE urged stakeholders to continue providing information on heath to the ordinary people.
