Covid-19: Zambia receives more vaccines

Etambuyu Katota-Zambia has received an additional 2-hundred and 28 thousand COVID-19 vaccine doses from France through the COVAX facility.

Receiving the vaccines at the KENNETH KAUNDA International Airport in Lusaka this afternoon, Health Permanent Secretary Technical Services KENNEDY MALAMA said the AstraZeneca vaccines will be given as a second and first dose.

Dr. MALAMA has encouraged Zambians to ensure they get vaccinated as this prevents extreme COVID-19.

He has assured the county that vaccines will be brought into the country in phases.

Dr. MALAMA has also warned health workers against engaging in misconduct, stating that the vaccines are free, and no one should be charged.

He has further urged the public to ensure they get the vaccine from the designated health facilities.

And United Nations Resident Coordinator COUMBA MAR GADIO thanked France for assisting Zambia with the vaccine.
