By Hannock Kasama

Patriotic Front –PF- faction Chairperson for Information and Publicity EMMANUEL MWAMBA has been ordered to surrender his passport by the Lusaka Magistrate Court.

LUSAKA Resident Magistrate TREVOUR KASANDA made the order after he revoked the bench warrant that was issued against Mr. MWAMBA last week, for absconding the Court’s sittings as he was abroad.

Magistrate KASANDA said surrendering the passport will enable the court to participate in Mr. MWAMBA’s decisions on international trips as trial continues.

This is in a matter where Mr. MWAMBA is charged with assaulting a police officer.

Mr. MWAMBA allegedly assaulted a police officer on June 16, 2023 in LUSAKA’s Woodlands Area.

This was before he was arrested on June 17, 2023 on charges of forgery contrary to the laws of ZAMBIA.

Mr. MWAMBA was also charged with three counts of publication of information contrary to Section 54 of the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act.
