Court Rejects Mundubile Injunction Against Miles Sampa

By Hannock Kasama

The Lusaka High Court has rejected the application for an injunction against the election of MATERO Member of Parliament MILES SAMPA as Patriotic Front-PF President.

Judge SITUMBEKO CHOCHO has dismissed the application by former Leader of the Opposition BRIAN MUNDIBILE, pending determination of another matter where Mr. SAMPA has sought an injunction against PF members GIVEN LUBINDA and NICKSON CHILANGA for holding themselves as Acting President and Secretary General of the party respectively.

She has ruled that based on the doctrine of equity she cannot preside over the application by Mr. MUNDUBILE before the disposal of Mr. SAMPA’s case against Mr. LUBINDA and Mr. CHILANGWA.

Judge CHOCHO has further ruled that she cannot interrogate whether or not the extraordinary convention where Mr. SAMPA was elected was illegal until the determination of his matter where he earlier cited Mr. LUBINDA and Mr. CHILANGWA for allegedly holding
themselves out as Acting President and Secretary General.

Mr. SAMPA is being represented by LUSAKA Lawyer JEAH MADAIKA.

Two days ago Mr. MUNDIBILE lodged an injunction seeking a declaration to restrain PF Mr SAMPA and Secretary General MORGAN NG’ONA from holding themselves out in their positions.
