COSAFA U-17 : ZAMBIA MINTS GOLD

Zambia has been crowned winner of the 2021 Under 17 COSAFA girls’ Championship.

This after junior Shepolopolo beat Botswana four nil in the final fixture played this afternoon at the ongoing Region five youth games in Maseru Lesotho.

The team scored from either half of the game to silence neighbours Botswana who came into this encounter with confidence.

Shepolopolo side took the lead in the 13th minute through JESSY ZULU before loading a second in the 39th minute courtesy LUCY KAJIYA.

Two nil was the half time score as the second half brought a different flyer with both sides looking more determined to put up a good fight.

But it was Capitan from the Zambian troops LUBASI PUMULO that silenced the opponents with a sublime header that came off a GRACIOUS TAILOSHI corner in the 68th minute to make it three nil.

After setting up the third goal TAILOSHI was in the limelight as she scored straight from a set piece in the 70th minute taking the tally to four nil.

The empathic four nil win as seen Zambia mint gold at the competition.
