Cops Warned of Dismissal for Misconduct

The Police Public Complaints Authority says it will not hesitate to dismiss from the service police officers that willfully misconduct themselves.Commission Chairperson Fredrick Musonda says the commission is dismayed with numerous complaints that are coming from the public and leveled against some police officers.Mr. Musonda was speaking in Siavonga when his commission conducted its first sitting.The Commission is on a tour of Southern Province to conduct sensitization meetings as well as receive complaints from the general public on the misconduct of some police officers.The Commissioners led by the Chairperson will visit all Districts in the province to conduct its sittings and was in Siavonga District where they addressed Heads of Government departments before meeting the men and women in uniform.And, Siavonga District Commissioner Lovemore Kanyama strongly appealed to the Commission to consider transferring some of the officers from the station whom he said have overstayed.
