Sensational Zanaco head coach Chris Kaunda is enjoying life at Zanaco being on top of the league with one game to go before the end of the first round.

Prison Leopards have been impressive this season with some sections of the fans feeling they can fight for the title but Chris Kaunda has downplayed Leopards’ title challenge and says they are just fighting to avoid relegation.

“It was a tough game and you know these guys there are trying to survive relegation they want to stay mid-table, I think they have survived they can’t get relegated but it’s difficult to play them it’s not easy, that’s why at home with their ground it’s not easy to play now I understand,” he said.

“It’s about character, When we went into the dressing room we just talked to them calm down don’t play with the referee, no offside trap, the substitutions we made were tactical we knew what we wanted to do and you saw what happened.”

When asked about the officiating, Chris Kaunda did not want to comment. He also refused to talk about the Redcard given to his skipper Roger Kola who was sent off after two bookable offenses.

“I don’t want to talk about referees am here to talk about the football which was being played on the pitch and not about Referees,” he said.

“No no no I didn’t hear what they said whatever he said I don’t know so I can’t comment,” he added.

He then said his team are not under pressure been Top of the table

“For us, I have told you we are in business, Zanaco exco the management of Zanaco has to pay us that’s what we ask from them is money those are the contracts we signed so we are in business we don’t care what other teams are doing we have to play our game that’s all,” he said.

“We are enjoying, us we are enjoying playing if you have seen the way we started players have started stabilizing and picking up that’s more important we don’t want any pressure on anyone and lucky enough even, the Board and the management they are not putting pressure on players they allow me to do what I want if I want to come and sit here or I train 30minutes that’s none of their business. They are not concerned, the line up I make, they are not concerned. What concerns them is getting them points and us getting our money that’s all.”

The Bankers came from two goals down to beat Prison Leopards 3-2. Landu Miete scored a brace for Leopards while Roger Kola scored a brace for the Bankers with Abraham Siankombo scoring the winner.
