Chongwe District Development Coordinating Committee challenged

(ZANIS) Health Minister SYLVIA MASEBO has urged all Heads of Departments in Chongwe district to be efficient in addressing the developmental challenges that affect the district.

Ms MASEBO was speaking today when she attended the first District Development Coordinating Committee (DDCC) meeting for the year 2022 at Chongwe Municipal Council today.

She indicated that with the increased Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and the introduction of decentralization, all Heads of Departments in Chongwe District must ensure that government policies are implemented in all their departments and ordinary citiz
ns benefit from the government developmental agenda.

Ms MASEBO noted that decentralization will enhance easy access to information for the people and also enhance accountability of funds because the DDCC are the ones spearheading the developmental projects in the district.

Ms MASEBO, who is also Chongwe Member of Parliament added that the DDCC must engage the Chiefs in the area, whenever they are making important decisions in the district because Chiefs play a vital role in implementing Development projects in the District.

And Chongwe District Commissioner EVANS LUPIYA called on all heads of Departments in Chongwe to work in hand in hand with the government in fostering development in the district.

He advised that CDF recommendations must be made in line with the government developmental agenda in order to attain the sustainable development goals.

Various Heads of Departments attended the DDCC among Department of Health, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Water and Sanitation.
