Chipolopolo Ready For Mambas – Asanovic

The Zambia Men’s football team will this afternoon start their 2023 CHAN qualifiers journey with an away fixture to Mozambique.

The Chipolopolo battle the Mambas in the first round, first leg encounter to be played at the Do Zimpeto stadium at 15:00 hours.

And Chipolopolo Coach ALJOSA ASANOVIC says the team is ready for this afternoon’s fixture as they target a win.

ASANOVIC says Mozambique is a strong side and that the game will be a close contest.

The tactician has also revealed that Goalkeeper MWENYA CHIBWE and midfielder PRINCE MUMBA will not be available for this afternoon’s encounter after they sustained minor injuries.

The duo join SPENCER SAUTU who is also out injured but ASANOVIC has maintained that the team has enough ammunition to gun down the Mambas.

He said slim changes will be made to the team that played the final and won the 2022 COSAFA cup title.

The second leg will be played on July 30, 2022, at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka with the winner facing Malawi in the final qualifying round.
