Former Zambia national team coach Sven Vandenbroeck was impressed with the organization of the Chipolopolo Boys ahead of the back-to-back Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

The Association Sportive des Forces Armées Royales (ASFAR) boss was speaking after a practice match against Chambeshi’s Copper Bullets.

“I was surprised by the work ethic and the defensive organization and then going on the counter quickly, a positive image after I left Zambia I have followed them a lot, they have started a new project with a lot of new boys those who won the AFCON U-20 in 2017 so I see young stars coming in the team, it’s good for Zambian football,” he said.

“Mauritania, I have watched, their football in the last 5,6 years their football keeps getting into a high level but if Zambia can add Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu in midfield they have quality, they can also have some defensive organization..and if they don’t allow goals they can have a very good result in Mauritania.”

“And Mauritania there are playing well mostly at home because there are feeling well most of the time it’s difficult for visiting countries and if they can get a good result at home I see them doing good things,” he added.

Sven was also quick to send a special message to the people of Zambia

“To all the fans in Zambia it was a short period but I liked it for Life and football, there are all Crazy about football, stay like that and push the national team to get good results in the future.”

The Chipolopolo play Mauritania in Nouakchott on Friday at the Olympic Stadium in an 18:00 CAT kick-off.

Zambia will host Tunisia in Ndola at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on September 7 in a Group B Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup match.
