Chipata Girls, Solwezi Academy, and Prison Leopards Queens seal Women’s National League promotion

Chipata Girls have secured promotion to the FAZ Women’s national league following a 1-0 win over Northern Province representatives, Mpaji Girls in their final Group B played at Crested Crane Academy ground on Monday afternoon.

Nowela Mwanza scored the only goal of the game to seal top-flight football qualification for the Eastern Province representatives.

In the earlier match played at the same venue, Prison Leopards Queens sealed qualification to the top tier of Zambian Women’s football following a 2-2 draw.

Emeldah Kasonde’s brace canceled out Judith Nalishebo’s brace for Choma Warriors. Prison Leopards finished second in the group with five points while Choma Warriors finished in 3rd place with four points, narrowly missing out on promotion.

At the Margaret Mwanakatwe Bauleni community Stadium, Solwezi Academy was too good for Kitwe Girls as they beat the Copperbelt Provincial Champions, 3-1 thanks to an Esther Musialela brace and a Carol Sakuwaha strike.

Precious Mwewa scored the consolation goal for Kitwe Girls who failed to win a single game at the tournament.

Green Eagles sealed their National League slot on Sunday following a 2-0 win over Mpaji Girls and a 3-2 win over Chipata Girls on Saturday.
