Chinsali Vulnerable families begin accessing SCT funds

ZANIS-Government has released K2.8m for the vulnerable and people living with disabilities in Chinsali District – Muchinga Province under the Social Cash Transfer programme.

Muchinga Province Minister HENRY SIKAZWE who has flagged off the payment of 8,485 beneficiary households, has called for proper utilization of social cash transfer funds among beneficiaries.

Seven hundred and 59 beneficiary households from Seedfarm, Kabuta and Chandamali areas were paid yesterday at Mwaba Primary School.

The Provincial Minister said the programme aims at reducing extreme poverty in order to enhance the living standards of the poor and vulnerable but viable households.

Mr. SIKAZWE added that the new dawn government still remains steadfast and has continued with the social cash transfer programme.

And Chinsali District Social Welfare Officer, INESS MULENGA said the K2.8 disbursed is for November and December 2021.

Ms MULENGA attributed the delay in paying the beneficiaries their dues for two months to the dissolution of community welfare assistance committees.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, GODWIN MUBANGA thanked government for the timely disbursement of funds.
