China’s Communist Party seeks ties with UPND

United Party for National Development-UPND- Secretary General BATUKE IMENDA has thanked  the Chinese Communist Party-CCP for its efforts to strengthen relations with Zambia’s ruling party.

Mr. IMENDA says the UPND wants to learn from the CCP because it is experienced and one of the largest political parties in the world.

He has further thanked CCP for organising cultural exchange visits for UPND members who recently went to China to learn about that Country’s culture and political history.

Mr. IMENDA said this when he met the Chinese Deputy Minister in the International Department of the Chinese Communist Party -CCP- Central Committee LI MINGXIANG at the UPND Secretariat in Lusaka.

Speaking during the same meeting, UPND acting National Chairman COLLINS MAOMA thanked China for helping Zambia restructure its debt.

And Mr. LI said his visit is meant to consolidate relations with the UPND following President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA’s visit to China in 2023.

Mr. LI said he is happy that the two parties have reached consensus to strengthen engagements.

He reiterated his party’s commitment to continue using various avenues of corporation such as exchange cultural visits.
