CHILONGA NURSING SCHOOL STARTS REPAIRS

Chilonga Mission Nursing School management in Mpika district says repairs to the student’s hostel that was this week gutted will commence next week.Principal at the nursing school Rosemary Kabungo told ZNBC news in a Telephone interview that management has been assessing the extent of the damage.Sister Kabungo says the cause of the fire was an electric element left on in the room by some first-year students at a time when there was no power.She said two students lost all their belongings.Sister Kabungo said management has since cautioned students against cooking from their rooms.And Mpika Central Member of Parliament Sylvia Chalikosa said her constituency office is mobilising funds to help the two students who have lost all their belongings in the fire.Ms Chalikosa, who is also Works and Supply Minister, said it is unfortunate that the incident has happened for the second time.She has appealed to management to ensure strict measures are put in place to avoid damage of property at the school.
