CHIEF CHIWALA: FOOD PRICES WILL REDUCE IF WE GROW MORE

Senior Chief CHIWALA of Ndola says the High Prices of commodities in the country will only come down if Zambians grow enough food for local consumption and export.

He says citizens should seriously get into farming and produce enough crops like maize and soya beans if prices of commodities like mealie meal and cooking oil are to come down.

The Chief says citizens at individual level should help government by cultivating the culture of hard work.

The traditional leader says his subjects are encouraged to take up farming as a business and are happy that government has given them Urea fertilizer on time.

Senior Chief CHIWALA says his subjects are hopeful that government will work on addressing the challenges that affected the distribution of seed and D compound fertilizer during the next farming season.

He said this when officials from Export Trading Group-ETG- company paid a courtesy call on him.

And ETG Sales Manager SIANKONI ZULU said his company has met its target of delivering more than 1,000 metric tonnes of Urea on Time to the people of Masaiti.

He said at provincial level the company has already delivered fourteen thousand metric tonnes of Urea fertilizer.
