Chief Chisunka Condemns Harassment of Lungu

Chairperson of the House of Chiefs Chief CHISUNKA has condemned the harassment of Former President EDGAR LUNGU by suspected UPND cadres at the Malaila Ceremony in MFUWE.

Chief CHISUNKA says traditional leaders are non-partisan and that traditional ceremonies are not political gatherings.

He says traditional ceremonies are therefore open for all to attend regardless of their political affiliations.

In a statement, Chief CHISUNKA said the incident at the Malaila ceremony reflects a lack of respect for elders and the values that traditional leaders cherish.

And, UPND Spokesperson, CORNELIUS MWEETWA says ANYONE who violates the law must be held accountable.

Mr MWEETWA said no one must rely on political affiliation to conduct any criminal activities.

Speaking during SUNDAY INTERVIEW Programme last night, Mr MWEETWA said the UPND administration believes in the rule of law.
