Chambeshi names 30 member provisional squad for World Cup qualifiers

Chipolopolo Boys’ new boss Beston Chambeshi has named a strong provisional squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Chambeshi has summoned a youthful squad that includes several former and current U-20 players like Jimmy Mukeya, Chanda Mukuka, Boyd Musonda, Field Kandela, Prosper Chiluya, Prince Mumba, Solomon Sakala, and Ngosa Sunzu.

Chambeshi held a joint press conference with his technical advisor, Aljosa Asanovic at lunchtime at Football House to announce the provisional squad.

Chambeshi has also included Lusaka Athletico trio of star forward Joseph ‘Sabobo’ Banda, Julius Kumwenda, and Francis Mutalange. The Nkana boss has also included Roderick Kabwe in his 30 member squad.

Shamuel Academy defender who is also U-17 national team captain Miguel Chaiwa has also been handed a call-up.

The team will enter camp tomorrow and are expected to get down to work by Friday.

Zambia faces Mauritania and Tunisia next month in the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will have five representatives at Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup. Only group winners of the ten groups will qualify to the final round where they will be drawn into five home-and-away ties. The winners of each tie will advance to the World Cup.
