Nkana edged Napsa Stars 1-0 on Saturday in a week 16 MTN/FAZ Super League encounter played at Nkoloma Stadium.

The ZamFoot Crew caught up with the victorious Nkana head coach Manfred Chabinga who attributed the win to adequate preparation.

“We know Napsa is on a higher position than us, as a team we made sure we trained well for this match knowing it was not going to be an easy game,” he said.

“I urged the boys to repay the fans with some beautiful football after the derby loss, our supporters are very expectant as such we needed to put a smile on their faces,” he said.

Nkana was on top of their game with beautiful passes and overpowering the Napsa Stars midfield. Nkana Strikers missed a number of chances and Chabinga felt it was because his players lacked patience in the final third.

” We had a lot of chances in the first half of the game, Mubanga (Kelvin) missed a number of them which would have resulted into goals, Tsimenga also when he was introduced failed to find the back of the net,” he said.

Chisamba Lungu came from the bench to play the last 18 minutes and Chabinga was left very impressed with the shift put in by the former Russian based midfield ace.

“He is an experienced player, Napsa Stars Midfield was not aggressive and we brought in Chisamba to cause control the game. He was marvelous, You know he is a skillful player and his passing was brilliant,” he said.

A second-half strike from Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba was enough to secure maximum points for Nkana sending them to fourth place on the log with 30 points just a point less than the log leaders, Zesco United.
