CBU gets mining Africa centre of excellence

The World Bank through the Ministry of Technology and Science has injected about One million US dollars towards the construction of the Copperbelt University Africa center of excellence for sustainable mining.

This is the first of its kind in Southern Africa.

And Ministry of Technology and Science Permanent Secretary BRILLIANT HABEENZU is happy that construction works will start soon.

Dr. HABEENZU was speaking in an interview with ZNBC News at the Copperbelt University CBU in Kitwe after he commissioned works for the project.

MEANWHILE CBU Acting Vice Chancellor Professor PAUL CHISALA thanked the Government for considering the institution with such an important project.

Earlier Leader for Center of Excellence and Sustainable Mining MWANSA CHABALA said the facility will be able to conduct research on minerals.
