CAF okays 30,000 fans for Zambia v Mauritania match

30, 000 fans will be allowed into the National Heroes Stadium next week Saturday when the Copper Bullets welcome Mauritania in a matchday 5 Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier.

According to a statement on the FAZ Facebook page monitored by the ZamFoot Crew, the request is subject to adherence to COVIID-19 protocols.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has okayed the request by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to admit 30, 000 fans for the November 13 Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier between Zambia and Mauritania.

FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala says FAZ will work closely with the Ministry of Health in ensuring that the set guidelines are adhered to.

“We are happy to announce that our request to partially admit fans in the National Heroes Stadium has been granted by CAF. We are grateful that CAF has allowed after assessing the prevailing situation in Zambia in terms of Covid-19,” Kashala told FAZ media.

“Let me also advise members of the public to buy their tickets ahead of time as no tickets will be sold at the match venue. All tickets will be sold in Shoprite outlets via Computicket. Tickets are already on sale.

We will also have Ministry of Health officials set up vaccination centers around the stadium for Covid-19.”

Tickets for the match are on sale across Shoprite outlets via Computicket and are fetching K30 (South and North Wing), K50 (East Wing), K70 (West Wing), and K250 (VIP).

Tunisia tops Group B on 10 points while Equatorial Guinea has seven with Zambia in third with four. At the tail-end is Mauritania with one point.

The match will kick off at 15:00 hours on Saturday (November 13, 2021).
