Buffaloes, Napsa qualify for ABSA Cup

MTN Super League leaders Green Buffaloes have qualified for this year’s ABSA Cup.

And National First Division, NFD leaders Napsa Stars have also qualified following Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Trident at Lusaka’s Woodlands Stadium.

The second placed team after Week 17 from National First Division will join Perry Mutapa’s Napsa Stars in the quarter finals.

With the NFD contributing two clubs, six will come from the Super League.

Despite suffering their second defeat of the season against Buildcon, Buffaloes qualified to the quarter finals a fortnight ago.

Second placed Zesco United, Green Eagles, Power Dynamos, Kabwe Warriors and Nkana are all in contention to qualify.

Others are Buildcon, Nkwazi, Forest RangersRed Arrows, Zanaco, Prison Leopards and Kansanshi Dynamos.

Only 5 clubs will join Buffaloes in the quarter finals.

So it’s 6 from the Super League and 2 from NFD

Holders Lusaka Dynamos are likely to missed out as they are still in the drop zone.

Zesco United is the most successful side with 6 titles.
