Zambia Women’s National Team Coach Bruce Mwape has declared his lasses ready for tomorrow’s crunch encounter against Malawi in the final Group B match of the 2020 COSAFA Women’s Championship slated for Wolfson Stadium with Kick-off at 12h30.

Copper Queens are going into this match with heads high looking forward to collecting maximum points.

Speaking in an interview from Port Elizabeth, Mwape said the morale in camp is high though he has predicted a tough match against old foes.

“The training session was okay and the morale in camp is high and everyone is ready for tomorrow’s game,” he said.

“The Malawian team played well against Lesotho, and looking at their performance, tomorrow’s game will be a 50-50 affair because they showed that they are serious, and even us we are also serious we are ready for them,” Mwape added.

Mwape told the ZamFoot Crew that they are going into this game looking for an outright win as their main target to secure passage to the semi-finals.

“It’s a must-win game for us because Malawi has an advantage on goal difference so for us to qualify to the semi-finals we need a win so we are going to try by all means to play attacking football,” Mwape said.

Mwape went on to say that the team playing all the games at the tournament will be an advantage because this is part of preparations for the Tokyo 2021 Olympics to be hosted by Japan.

“We want to go as far as the finals, and this tournament is part of the preparations for the Olympics so we would like to play all the games up to the final,” he said.

The Copper Queens and The Scorchers will renew their rivalry tomorrow with a winner takes it all, the last time these two sides met was in the 2017 edition of the tournament in Zimbabwe with Zambia edging Malawi 6-3, Barbara Banda and Misozi Zulu scored a brace each while Noria Sosala and Racheal Nachula scored a goal each and on the opposite side it was Tabitha Chawinga yet again on the scoresheet scoring all the 3 goals for Malawi who will be fighting to avenge that loss they suffered three years ago at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo.
