Brace for Fashion Sakala as he makes it six in six

Belgium based striker Fashion Sakala scored a brace for his club KV Oostende as they were held to a 2 – 2 home draw against Standard Liege who scored a late equalizer.

It has been a prolific start to the year for the Zambian international as he has scored six goals in six games in the month of January.

Sakala led the Oostende attack with his strike partner Makhtar Gueye and he we was on target in the 8th minute when he guided the ball home from a cross on the right.

Liege responded with a goal 2 minutes after the restart but Sakala pounced on a through ball to go one on one with the goalie shoot past the advance keeper.

With victory in sight, the hosts rested their sharp shooter in the 81st minute but were unfortunate to fail to hold on to the lead as they again conceded in the the 4th minute of additional time from a Merveille Bokadi back heel.

This was Sakala’s 10th goal in the season and he has equaled his best scoring season in Europe which was in 2017/2018 when he scored 10 goals for Spartak Moscow II.

The draw sees his team move one more step up into 6th position.
