Zambia Won The First Ever Women’s Homeless World Cup in 2008 Which was Held In Melbourne, Australia⚽.

Oh Yah, They Defeated Liberia in an All-Africa Final 7-1 to be crowned as 2008 Women’s Homeless World Cup Champions.

Some of the Notable players that Featured are Carol Kanyemba Daka, Edinashe Mambwe And Sara Daka Who are all Assistant Coaches at Green Buffaloes, Red Arrows and Nkana Respectively.

After The final match,


The above Named Trio who are now assistant coaches in the Football Association of Zambia(FAZ) Women’s League had this to say to sport and dev.org.

‘We Face alot of Challenges as Women but we overcame them to win’ – Sara Daka, Nkana Women’s Assistant Coach.

‘Lots of media companies have gotten in touch with us to find out our opinions and experiences of the whole Homeless World Cup event, and of the results. My country is very happy for the Zambian Team to represent the nation’ – Red Arrows Women Football Club Assistant Coach, Edinashe Mambwe.

And Carol Kanyemba Daka who is now Assistant Coach At Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club is living her dreams because she had set eyes on becoming a coach.

‘My goal is to teach the young how to play soccer in Zambia. This way I can pass on my skills and experience and help others’

The Homeless World Cup is an annual football tournament organized by the Homeless World Cup Foundation, a social organization which advocates the end of homelessness through the sport of association football (or soccer). The organization puts together an annual football tournament where teams of homeless people from each country compete.
