Black Mountain Consortium report tabloid to police

The Black Mountain Consortium has formally reported to Police, the News Editor of a named daily tabloid for publishing a story alleging that lives are being lost at the Black Mountain in Kitwe.

Consortium Spokesperson KANGWA KAMANDO says the story published in the Saturday Edition on May 21st, 2022 headlined “Halt Black Mountain Operations” is defamatory.

Mr. KAMANDO says NO single life has been lost since operations resumed at the Black Mountain set for a youth who jumped out of a moving truck in an incident that happened away from the black mountain.

He charges that the negative stories appearing in the Newspaper are alarming, misleading and not factual.

Speaking when he reported the matter at Kitwe Central Police Station, Mr. KAMANDO observed that the Consortium is working with the Mines Safety Department and has put in place all safety measures.
