Bazo haunts Power on his return as Napsa, Buffaloes and Eagles record vital wins

Alex ‘Bazo’ Ng’onga returned to haunt his former club as Nkana defeated Power Dynamos  2-0 in the Kitwe derby.

The 26-year-old who left Power Dynamos a month ago as a free agent was named in the starting lineup by Bestone Chambeshi and the former Chipolopolo forward didn’t disappoint.

On-loan winger Diamond Chikwekwe gave the red devils a lead on the half-hour mark off a Harrison Chisala defense-splitting.

Perry Mutapa’s side tried to pile pressure on Nkana but the 13 times Zambian Champions were resolute and went to the break with a lead.

Nkana, Napsa Stars, and Lumwana Radiants are in the drop zone.

Nkana and Napsa Stars have four and three games in hand over their rivals in the drop zone.

Green Buffaloes 4-0 Lumwana Radiants (Nicholas Mulilo 37′, 87′, Friday Samu 60′, 90′)

Green Buffaloes continued their rich vein of form with a four-nil demolishing of Lumwana Radiants thanks to a brace each from strikers Nicholas Mulilo and Friday Samu at Lusaka’s Nkoloma Stadium.

Buffaloes coach Justin Chinama won the bragging rights over ex-Buffaloes trainer Bilton Musonda, who is now in charge of Lumwana.

Samu who has scored 6 goals in his last 4 matches is now a joint top scorer with Zanaco’s Moses Phiri.

Buffaloes are now level on points with Power Dynamos on 38 points while Lumwana Radiants are stuck in the drop zone on 29 points.

Prison Leopards 1-2 Napsa Stars (Junior Zulu 63’| Bornwell Mwape 15′ pen, Jimmy Mukeya 43′)

Youngster Jimmy ‘Zobrigo’ Mukeya has continued to impress as he netted the second goal this afternoon for NAPSA stars who made it two wins on the trout after beating Prison Leopards 2-1. Born well Mwape opened the scores from the penalty spot while Junior Zulu pulled one back for the hosts who suffered their third defeat in their last four matches.

The win takes the Pensioners to 33 points and within just a point of leaving the dreaded relegation zone while the Collect Boys drop to 14th place and just a point away from the relegation zone.

Green Eagles 2-0 Lusaka Dynamos (Warren Kunda 53′, Collins Mulenga 90+2′)

A goal each from Warren Kunda and Collins Mulenga gives Green Eagles a comfortable 2-0 win over Lusaka Dynamos in Choma.

The win means the Kawale Boys have won back-to-back matches but it is only their fourth win in the last ten games. The win takes them to 11th place with 36 points, further away from the relegation zone.

Elsewhere Young Green Eagles beat Indeni 3-2 away in Ndola to pick up a vital win on their quest to avoid relegation.
