BASKETBALL FESTIVAL TO TRAIN 200 GIRLS

Over 200 school girls are set to receive life skills and basketball training this month during the first ever basketball festival.

The Zambia Basketball Association -ZBF- Communications and Marketing Director DANNY MWIKISA says girls from 6 to 15 years will be trained in Lusaka and Copperbelt Provinces.

MWIKISA says the training will be conducted in line with the International Basketball Federation -FIBA- campaign aimed at raising awareness for girls and women in the sport.

He told ZNBC Sports News that the event will also be held to commemorate the international girls day.

And in Volleyball Zambia will this December host the 2022 Zone Six Senior Volleyball Club Championship in Lusaka.

10 countries, including host Zambia, will convene for the games that will run from December 12th to 22nd, 2022.

And Zambia Volleyball Association -ZAVA – President NAKAONGA KAKOMA says hosting the event is a huge platform for the country to market itself to the region.

KAKOMA told ZNBC Sports News that as hosts Zambia will be represented by at least 10 clubs during the championship.

She said there will be hundreds of participants as countries will field in a maximum of 10 clubs.
