Athletics Coach Hopeful Of Commonwealth Medals

Chansa Kunda-Athletics National Team Coach DOUGLAS KALEMBO says the Six athletes set to represent the country at the 2022 Commonwealth games will mint medals.

KALEMBO says the current crop, will not be spectators at this year’s event but will fight to get at least three medals for the country.

He says so far the Athletes selected are the best in the country and will give a benefiting representation.

And KALEMBO has told ZNBC Sports News in an interview that he is impressed with the performance of 400 meters race duo MUZALA SAMUKONGA and NIDY MINGILISHI at the World Championships.

The Coach said the duo could not perform as expected as they had challenges settling and adopting to the time.

KALEMBO said the duo used the World Championships as a training ground and will deliver better results in Birmingham.
